EN-C comparisons

Hi,
I am starting a small personal comparison between some EN-C gliders for the interested:

Easiest to manage in the category:
1- OZONE Delta M
2- UP Summit XC2 M
3- ADVANCE Sigma 8 25
4- NIVIUK Artic 3
5- GIN Tribe M
6- OZONE Alpina M
7- Nova Factor 2 S & Aircross U-Cross

All being close.

Handling in rough air: (The one that you can turn even in rough air)

1- Nova Factor 2 and Artic 3
2- OZONE Alpina M
3- ADVANCE Sigma 8 25 & U-Cross
4- UP Summit XC2 M
5- Gin Tribe M
6- Ozone Delta M

Performance in calm air (no activity): My mistake earlier..Sorry !

1- NIVIUK Artic 3
2- Nova factor 2 S
3- Advance Sigma 8 25 & Ozone Alpina M & Ozone Delta M
4- U-Cross S
5- Gin Tribe & UP Summit XC2

Performance at "trim speed" in head wind glides and turbulent conditions :

1- Ozone Alpina M (It seems that it converts any movement to lift) & NIVIUK Artic 3
2- Advance Sigma 8 25 ( It has a very neutral pitch that allows it to stay on its path)
3- Nova factor 2 S (moves a bit)
4- Ozone Delta M (calm and always steady) & U-Cross S ( like on steroids )
5- Gin Tribe & UP Summit XC2 (Very close to the DELTA and U-Cross )

Performance at "first bar" in headwind glides and bumps :

1-NIVIUK Artic 3
2-Nova factor 2 S
3-Ozone Alpina M & Advance Sigma 8 25
4- Ozone Delta & Gin Tribe & UP Summit XC2 M

Performance at second bar in headwind glides:
1-Nova factor 2 S and NIVIUK Artic 3
2-Ozone Alpina M
3-Advance Sigma 8 25

Climb rate in weak but “difficult” conditions < 0.5 m/s (not homogenous thermals) :

1-NIVIUK Artic 3
2-Ozone Alpina M & Advance Sigma 8 25 & UP Summit XC2 M
3-Gin Tribe M
4-Ozone Delta M & U-Cross S
5-Nova Factor 2 S

Brake description :

1- Nova factor 2 S (very direct and precise)
2-NIVIUK Artic 3 Linear ,precise, agile
3- U-Cross S Direct and agile if the conditions are smooth, and a bit less in turbulent ,the glider must settle first)
4- Ozone Alpina M ( A bit longer than Factor 2 and a bit softer , more precise and shorter than the Delta M and much better turning behavior)
5- Gin Tribe M & Sigma 8 25 (very close in handling ,a bit long but still agile)
6- UP Summit XC2 M (Long average agility to good)
7- Ozone delta M (Soft ,long and average precision)

Brake stiffness: 1 being low
1- OZONE Delta M ,Alpina M
2- ADVANCE Sigma 8 25 ,GIN Tribe M, UP Summit XC2 M
3- NOVA Factor 2 S
4- NIVIUK ARTIC 3 25
5- AIRCROSS U-Cross S

Moving around in turbulence: 1 being too dampened
1-OZONE Delta M
2-ADVANCE Sigma 8 25, UP Summit XC2 M
3-NIVIUK Artic 3 25 , GIN Tribe M
4-OZONE Alpina M
5-NOVA Factor 2 S
6-AIRCROSS U-Cross S
Big ears efficiency:
They all have a usable big ears and good descent rates.

Conclusion: After all those testings i found that they are all very close .The difference and advantage that the Mentor 2 gave in the EN-B category versus its competitors,is not available till that moment between competitors in the EN-C category.
